TTS Tecno Trolley System: why professionals choose these cleaning trolleys

Who the Italian TTS Cleaning is, how the polypropylene Magic, Nick and Green trolleys differ from metal ones, and how the Uni System, Dosely, Hermetic and Trilogy systems cut cross-contamination, chemical use and operator strain.

In short

  • TTS (Tecno Trolley System) is an Italian manufacturer of manual professional cleaning equipment from Padua, founded in 1987: more than 4,200 items, over 100 patents, exports to 80 countries.
  • Trolleys and buckets are made of high-density polypropylene: they do not rust, withstand every disinfectant and are 100% recyclable; the Magic line is the first carbon neutral trolley line on the market.
  • The Uni System, Dosely, Hermetic and Trilogy systems solve the three things that cost money: cross-contamination, chemical and water consumption and operator strain.
  • Since 2023 TTS has been Kärcher’s partner for manual tools (Kärcher x TTS, more than 300 products). Interesta is the exclusive distributor for Montenegro, with more than 160 items in stock in Podgorica.

The cleaning trolley is the one piece of equipment a housekeeper or cleaner pushes eight hours a day, every day. Saving on it means saving in the wrong place: sheet-metal trolleys rust within two seasons in coastal humidity, buckets without lids spill solution along the corridor, and a mop wrung by hand carries bacteria from the toilet into the guest room. That is why we stock the complete TTS Cleaning range from Italy and why we wrote this guide: who TTS is, what makes its trolleys and systems different, and which trolley belongs in which building.

Who TTS is: Tecno Trolley System from Padua

TTS Cleaning S.r.l. was founded in 1987 in Santa Giustina in Colle near Padua, where its headquarters and production still are. The company has stayed specialised in one thing: manual equipment for professional cleaning, from trolleys and buckets to mops, frames, cloths and window tools. In figures it looks like this today.

One figure that does not appear in the catalogue matters too: the average TTS employee has been with the company for 15 years. Trolleys are designed, moulded and assembled in the same place, and the plastic suppliers are less than 45 km from the factory. That is why quality is the same from batch to batch, and spare parts and accessories for older trolley series are still produced.

Why polypropylene, not metal

The first difference a buyer notices is the material. TTS trolleys and buckets are made of high-density polypropylene, not painted sheet metal or chromed tube. That has four practical consequences:

  • They do not rust. There are no metal screws in contact with water; even on the Green Hotel line the metal frame is protected by a Rilsan coating. A trolley in a seaside hotel looks the same after its fifth season.
  • They withstand every disinfectant. Surfaces are rounded and smooth, every hole is closed, so there is nowhere for dirt to collect. Polypropylene does not react to chlorine, alcohol or quaternary ammonium compounds.
  • They are light. An empty trolley weighs far less than a metal one, so pushing over carpet and thresholds is easier, and the ø 100, 125 or 150 mm rubber wheels with brake make it easier still.
  • They are recycled. Trolleys are 100% recyclable at end of life, and part of the components are already made from PSV-certified recycled plastic. Recycled polypropylene cuts production CO₂ by about a third compared with virgin material.

The Magic line: trolleys you configure, not buy off the shelf

Magic is the best-selling TTS line and the reason TTS is spoken of as a system rather than a product. The base is a modular frame on which three working zones are built: waste collection (90, 120 or 150 L bag holders), storage (drawers with or without key, shelves, tablet holder) and the washing zone (buckets, wringer, pre-soaking station). The same trolley is configured as a housekeeping trolley for a hotel, as a closed lockable trolley for a hospital, and as a light open version for an office building. TTS also offers a 3D configurator and the Magic Mobile app where the trolley is assembled before ordering.

  • Magic System 720E Elegance: a closed trolley with three zones (150 L waste, storage with drawer, washing with pre-soaking system), 120 × 58 × 115 cm. Closed panels hide the buckets and bag, which makes it the trolley for hotel corridors and public areas.
  • Magic Hotel 850S Safety: a housekeeping trolley with lockable doors. Linen, amenities and guests’ belongings are protected from view and theft, and the quiet large-diameter wheels do not wake guests.
  • MagicArt 27 Safety Plus: the same modular base with panels printed to order, from the hotel logo to a photograph. A trolley that is part of the interior rather than something to hide.

The push handle adjusts to the operator’s height through a range of up to 180°, wheel bumpers protect the walls, and every Magic trolley accepts the Dosely station, the Hermetic bucket and glove and sanitiser holders.

Nick and Green: compact trolleys for smaller buildings

Not every building needs a Magic. For restaurants, offices, schools and smaller hotels TTS has two simpler lines made of the same plastic.

Floor washing systems: where TTS makes the difference

The trolley is only the carrier. What reduces costs and complaints are the mopping systems TTS has patented and which combine with each other.

Uni System: one frame, no contact with the dirty mop

The frame opens at the press of a button, is lowered onto the mop and the mop is hooked on with one press of the foot. After washing, the dirty mop is released with the same button, so the operator never picks it up by hand. The same frame works with the pre-soaking bucket, the Dosely station and every TTS wringer, and the Microriccio, Microblue, Soft Striat and UltraSafe mops (for R10/R11 anti-slip floors in kitchens and around pools) cover every floor type. Staff training takes as long as one demonstration.

Pre-soaking and the Hermetic bucket: mops prepared in advance

Instead of pushing a bucket of water, the operator soaks the mops for a whole floor in the 20 L Hermetic bucket at the start of the shift and carries them on the trolley. Every room gets a fresh mop; the dirty one goes into the laundry net. The hermetic lid with gasket prevents spilling and evaporation of the solution, so the dose stays the one set by the hygiene technologist, not the cleaner’s guess. This is the standard in hospitals and the only system that really breaks cross-contamination between rooms.

Dosely: soaking one mop on demand

Dosely is a station on the trolley that soaks one mop at a time. The 6 L tank is hermetically sealed and locked with a key, and a control ring sets the dose from 50 to 350 ml per mop. Only the working side of the mop is soaked, so TTS quotes a saving of about a third of the solution per mop compared with classic soaking, and mops that were not used do not need to be washed again. The operator adjusts mop moisture to the floor: wetter for washrooms, drier for parquet and laminate.

Trilogy: a double-sided mop, half as many mops

The Trilogy frame has two working sides: when one is soiled, the frame is flipped with the pedal and work continues with the other. One mop therefore washes twice the area, so the building carries and launders half as many mops. Tri+ mops also have a waterproof layer between the dry and the wet side, for dry and damp wiping in one pass.

Tip from practice

The most common mistake we see in buildings is not poor chemistry but one mop for everything. TTS mops and buckets come in four colours and that is how zones are coded: blue for general surfaces and rooms, red for toilet bowls and urinals, yellow for washbasins and bathrooms, green for the kitchen. The rule fits on one sheet of paper on the wall, and HACCP inspections and hotel audits ask for it. For smaller buildings the same rule is covered by the Squizzy kit: a 15 L bucket with divider and pedal wringer, frame and 40 cm microfibre mop.

Ergonomics: Infinity and Lampo

An operator who does not trust the equipment works more slowly. TTS has therefore measured ergonomics rather than just promised it. The Infinity handle rotates 360° in its upper and middle sections, so the hand guides the mop in a figure of eight without clenching the wrist; an independent assessment (Humana Consulting) showed wrist movements reduced by 75%. The Lampo system is a quick coupling between handle and tool: the same telescopic handle takes the Bit jointed dusting frame (tilts up to 270°), a cobweb brush or a window washer in seconds, without touching dirty parts and without ladders. Wringers on Nick trolleys sit higher than on other makes, so the operator does not bend when wringing.

Sustainability you can check

Many manufacturers print “eco” on the box. TTS documents it per product: for every item it calculates lifecycle CO₂ emissions under ISO 14067, and it holds the Carbon Footprint Systematic Approach certificate as one of the first companies in the sector. Specifically:

  • Since 2019 the Magic line has been in a compensation programme covering the emissions of a whole year’s production: the first carbon neutral trolley line.
  • Magic models 410, 420 and 470 and selected TTS microfibre mops carry the EU Ecolabel; Ecolabel trolleys contain at least 30% recycled plastic, and waste containers 97%.
  • The factory has three solar plants (since 2011, 315 kW) producing up to 400,000 kWh a year and saving about 100 t of CO₂; 98.8% of products ship in cardboard packaging.

For hotels working to Travelife, Green Key or ISO 14001, this means the purchase of trolleys and mops can go into the report with figures rather than with a description.

Kärcher x TTS: a signal that says more than a catalogue

In April 2023 Kärcher, the world’s largest manufacturer of cleaning machines, signed a strategic partnership with TTS. Since then more than 300 TTS products for manual cleaning have been sold under the name Kärcher x TTS, and TTS is Kärcher’s competence centre for manual tools. When a company that could choose any manufacturer in Europe picks one for its trolleys, buckets and mops, that is reference enough.
