Buying guide

Laundry boosters are added alongside the main detergent when the detergent alone is not enough — for heavily soiled and greasy linen from kitchens and restaurants, in hard water, or when linen starts to turn grey. They raise alkalinity, bind water hardness and help the detergent remove grease and proteins.

CLAX Build is a liquid alkaline booster for heavily soiled textiles, CLAX Saturn a strongly alkaline powder booster for greasy linen in hard water, and CLAX 200 Pur-Eco an eco-certified concentrate with a multi-enzyme formula for industrial soiling. CLAX Renova is a sequestrant-based booster: it binds water hardness and metal ions, preventing greying of linen and scale build-up on fabric and in the machine.

The booster is dosed in the main wash together with a laundry detergent, and after an alkaline wash the linen is neutralised in the final rinse with a neutraliser. We set the combination and dosages for your laundry, based on water hardness and soiling type, when installing the dosing system.

Frequently asked questions

When does a laundry need a booster?

When the detergent alone does not remove the soiling: greasy kitchen and restaurant textiles, workwear, cloths and mops, and linen that stays grey after washing. For lightly soiled hotel linen in soft water, a complete detergent without a booster is usually enough.

What does a sequestrant-based booster do?

Sequestrants bind calcium, magnesium and metal ions in the water, so they do not consume detergent or deposit on fabric and heating elements. In hard water, as found in most of Montenegro, CLAX Renova keeps linen white and reduces scale build-up in the machine.

Is neutralisation needed after an alkaline booster?

Yes. Alkaline boosters raise the pH, so a neutraliser (CLAX Neutrapur or CLAX Soft 2in1) is added in the final rinse to bring the linen back to a neutral pH. This leaves no alkaline residue on the fabric to irritate the skin and shorten textile life.
