Product types for professional laundries
The main wash detergent is the basis of every wash programme, removing general soiling, grease and body soils. Automatic systems use a liquid concentrate; manual dosing uses a powder or liquid detergent for whites and colours.
A wash booster (alkaline booster) raises the pH and breaks down stubborn grease and oils on kitchen cloths, workwear and bed linen. CLAX Saturn is used for heavily soiled linen, while CLAX Renova and CLAX 200 Pur Eco are used for medium soiling and where fabric protection and hard water are a concern.
Bleach ensures whiteness and hygienic washing. Chlorine bleach (CLAX Hypo) disinfects at lower temperatures, while oxygen bleach (CLAX Activ) protects fibres and colours and is suitable for terry towels and coloured linen.
The neutraliser (CLAX Neutrapur) removes residual alkalinity in the final rinse, so linen is gentle on guests' skin and does not yellow when ironed. CLAX Rust also removes rust and iron deposits originating from the water.
Fabric softener adds softness and fragrance, reduces static and makes ironing easier; Coccolino Pro Formula Sensitive is a hypoallergenic variant for hotel rooms and spas.
Stain removers (CLAX Magic line) deal with stains that the wash programme does not remove: protein (blood, food), rust, tannin (coffee, wine, fruit), ink and cosmetics. They are available individually or as a starter set.
Automatic or manual dosing?
An automatic dosing system connects the chemicals directly to the machine and doses the exact quantity for every programme. It pays for itself in laundries washing more than 400 kg of linen a day: chemical consumption falls by up to 30%, results are consistent on every shift, and staff do not come into contact with the concentrate. Manual dosing is more practical for small hotels, restaurants and guesthouses with one or two machines.
